Watercolor artist, Ralph Avery graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1928 and was a faculty member of the department of Applied Art for 25 years. He often painted scenes from the local area-gray, foggy views of the downtown skyline, portraits of elegant old city homes, and abstractions of natural areas from the surrounding landscape.
His most remembered work is a wonderful series of drawings depicting "The statue of Mercury;" (messenger of the god's and the highlight of Roch (showing 500 of 1357 characters). |
