An illustrator, painter in abstract/realist style, and lecturer, Jack Burton did work for Fortune magazine, and exhibiting with the Cleveland Museum of Art, earned an award for excellence in watercolor with a modernist landscape titled Aftermath. No date is given, but it is known that he exhibited in that venue from 1939 to 1945. Other exhibitions for Burton were Carnegie Institute, Art Institute of Chicago*, and Butler Art Institute.
