This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Scarborough, Yorkshire in northeastern England, Peter Brooke was early inspired as a wildlife sculptor by English artist, Ralph Thompson. Later in his career, he began sculpting the human figure, and in 2004 won the Gold Medal for Sculpture for a figural piece, "Michael-Standing" at the California Art Club's 94th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition.

Brooke took a one year post-highschool course on illustration and then earned a bachelor's degree in television and film production design at Manchester Polytechnic in England. He spent his summer vacations sculpting creatures for animation studios and then worked for the Creatuaree Shop, established by Muppets crator Jim Henson in London. From a co-worker, Ron Mueck, he also learned techniques of fine art.

Employed as an animator in Los Angeles, he created dinosaurs and the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." He also did bird sculpture.

Biography from American Legacy Fine Arts:
Peter Brooke was born and raised in the harbor town of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England.  After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Manchester University, he moved south to London and began his professional career as a sculptor and designer for Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

After moving to the United States, he began to exhibit bronze sculptures of animals. The quality of these sculptures was quickly recognized and images of his work appeared in Southwest Art magazine, Wildlife Art News and Art-Talk.

His work has been shown in many museum and gallery exhibitions throughout the country, winning an Award of Excellence in 1998 at the Society of Animal Artists Annual Exhibition.

Recently, Brooke has shifted his focus to that of the human figure.

He was the winner of the Gold Medal Award for Sculpture at the California Art Club’s 94th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition in 2004.

Peter Brooke is a Sculptor Member of the California Art Club.
