This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Cunningham was born August 4, 1924 in Herington, Kansas.  Studied at the Univ. of Kansas, the Kansas City Art Institute, and the Art Students League in New York.  His assignments included U.S. Postal issues, the 1980 Winter Olympic series for the New York Telephone Co., and numerous national advertising accounts. His vivid colors and compositions are his trademark with sports themes a common subject matter. 

Member: Society of Illustrators.

Awards: Hamilton King Award, Society of Illustrators, 1983.
