Helen Savier DuMond, born 1872, was raised in Portland Oregon, an area known for its majestic mountains and vast tracks of timber rich land. Her family was prominent in that area, and she was raised in a privileged environment. When in her teens she headed to New York City to study at the Art Students League.
While at the League she was a student of long-time, prominent instructor Frank DuMond (1865-1951), whom she later married. In the late 1890s, she went to Paris and studied at the Eco (showing 500 of 1923 characters). |
