The following is from Ed Dannenberg:

DANIEL, LEWIS C.

Member: National Academy of Design, Society of American Etchers

Born: New York City, Oct. 23,1901,

Educated in New York City public schools

Student: National Academy of Design, Cooper Union with Harry Wickey

Awarded three fellowships: Mac Dowell Colony

Eyre medal for prints, Academy of Fine Arts

Represented in collections of Whitney Museum, Academy of Fine Arts, Cooper
Union Library, New York Public Library, Library of Congress, Metropolitan
Museum of Art, Smithsonian American Indian Museum.

Limited editions of etchings for "Song of the Open Road" by Walt Whitman

Interpreted Brahms Symphony NO 1 for Capehart Collection.
Painted "Siege of Stalingrad" for Office of War Information, picture was hanging in the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC.
