Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
| | Painter, cartoonist. Born in San Bernardino, CA on Sept. 25, 1900. Day was due to graduate from Poly High School in Los Angeles in 1919 when the flu epidemic postponed his graduation. During the interim he studied at the Otis Art Institute. While on his way to school one day he dropped into the Los Angeles Times and got a job in the art department. In 1930 he moved to NYC where he joined the staff of the New Yorker. He contributed cartoons to that magazine for over 40 years while a resident of Rockville Center, NY.
