Born in Turner’s Falls, MA on Aug. 29, 1912, Leslie Emery moved to Washington, DC in 1920 and studied for three years at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Following service in the Army Air Corps during WWII, he settled in Carmel, California.
Primarily a portrait painter, he also did landscapes and religious art. Leaving California in 1991, he moved to Norfolk, Virginia where he remained until his demise on Aug. 2, 1998.
