A painter and illustrator, Tom Everhart was a close friend of cartoonist Charles Schulz and is the only person authorized by Schulz to use characters created by the cartoonist in his own work.
To commemorate the loss of his friend, Everhart painted "The Tear", that shows Snoopy shedding a tear for the loss of his creator, Charles Schulz.
