Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1953, April Gornik, a painter and printmaker in photo-realist style, received a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1976. In 1978 she settled in New York City where she continues to live and work.
Gornik refers to herself as "an artist that values, above all, the ability of art to move me emotionally and psychically. I make art that makes me question, that derives its power from being vulnerable to interpretation, that is (showing 500 of 1316 characters). |
