This biography from the Archives of AskART:

The following information was submitted by the artist:

Birthplace: Quenado de Günes, Las Villas, Cuba, 1949.  Emigrated to the United States with his family in 1965

Jorge Alberto Gonzalez lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland under the artistic name of Jorge-Alberto.

For Jorge Alberto, Baltimore offers an extensive cultural community and is conveniently located near the major metropolitan cities Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City where he has enjoyed support from the artistic community. A former resident of Florence Italy, Jorge returns each year to paint and reflect in this city of creative masters.

Jorge-Alberto's paintings spring from a lifelong fascination with the drama of light and the deception of illusion, for that reason he enjoys creating works of art that have these qualities.

'Whether working on a still life, a trompe l’oile or the figure the process to me is the same, I am creating an illusion of a three-dimensional object by meticulously capturing it on a two-dimensional surface. The challenge is, to make the viewer believe that what they are seeing seems real!'

In 2001 Jorge-Alberto was awarded a bronze medal for his work at the International Biannual of Contemporary Art from the City of Florence, Italy.
