| Born in Hayward, CA on Dec. 8, 1896. After settling in Oakland as a child, Horton lived there for the rest of his life. He studied at the CSFA, CCAC, and with Armin Hansen. Horton lectured and served on art juries throughout California. For many years he was on the faculty at UC and taught there until his death on Dec. 5, 1945. The subjects of his etchings, watercolors, and drawings include nudes, still lifes, landscapes, portraits, and urban scenes. Exh: Oakland Art Gallery, 1932-41; Bay (showing 500 of 714 characters). |
