This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| From a small lumber-milling town in Oregon near the California border, Andrew Johnston paints photo-real cityscapes and rural landscapes. He is from Denver, Colorado, earned an MBA degree, and then became a financial analyst.
However, by 1997, he left this lucrative career to become a full-time painter, inspired by art classes given by Denver artist Jane Jones. She also advised him to persevere with his art talents. That same year, his wife, Kara, took an Internet job at a small Oregon college, and earned enough income to support him through the transition to full-time artist. |
