Biography from California Watercolor:
Reginald Johnson (1905-1984) Born: New York City, NY; Studied: Chouinard Art Institute (Los Angeles); Member: California Watercolor Society. Reginald Johnson moved to Los Angeles when he was fifteen and studied art with F. Tolles Chamberlin in the 1920s. By the 1930s he was showing American Scene paintings with the California Watercolor Society. He also worked as a freelance illustrator.

Painter. Born in NYC on July 10, 1905. Johnson moved to Los Angeles in 1920. After
graduation from Redlands High School, he studied with F. Tolles Chamberlin, Pruett Carter, and at the Choulnard Art School. He was a resident of Covina, CA from the 1930s until his death on Sept. 30, 1984. Exh: Painters & Sculptors of LA, 1934-37; Calif. WC Society, 1934-46; Laguna Beach AA, 1936 (2nd prize); Santa Cruz Art League, 1938; Oakland Art Gallery, 1939; GGIE, 1939; Whittier AA, 1940 (1st prize). WWC 1928: WWAA 1936-41
