| Cartoonist. Born in NYC on Oct. 25, 1915.
While employed at DC Comics in 1939, "Bob" Kane (ne' Kahn) created the classic heros Batman and Robin as well as the Joker, Riddler, and Cat Woman.
He was the main artist for the comic strip through the 1940s and continued as supervisor of the strip for many years.
He died in Los Angeles on Nov. 3, 1998. SF Chronicle, 11-6-1998 (obit).

| A cartoonist, Robert Kane ws born in New York City and studied at the Art Students League, and Cooper Union. He created the popular comic strip 'Batman" and popular heroes Robin, Joker, Riddler, and Cat Woman. He also drew gag cartoons such as "Jest Laffs" and "Peter Pupp".He was the supervisor for the Batman comic strip for many years and died in Los Angeles in 1998.
