Glassmaker and sculptor Marvin Lipofsky, born in 1938, received his B.F.A. degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois. He earned his M.S. degree, 1963, and M.F.A., 1964, in sculpture from the University of Madison, Wisconsin. There, he was one of Harvey Littleton's first graduate students working in glass.
Littleton had been the first American artist, in the 1960s, to visit Czechoslovakia, famous for its work in glass, where glass sculpture had been made since the 1950s. (showing 500 of 2421 characters). |
