| A portrait painter, sculptor, illustrator, etcher, writer, and lecturer, Roderick MacKenzie settled in Mobile, Alabama. He was born in London, England to American parents, and studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He was a member of the Royal Society of London.
