Rollin McGrail's trademark images are recognizable both for style and their content. Images often kind heartedly lampoon the rich while hearkening back to the era of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Nick and Nora Charles and the early New Yorker years of Peter Arno.
Working with brush and ink with a hint of watercolor, emphasis is on a strong use of black which sets off the color and classic vignette composition. Working largely conceptually at the same time lending an air of whimsy and grace to som (showing 500 of 770 characters). |
