One of the leading, most productive artists in New York City of the lithography firm of Currier & Ives, Fanny Palmer was unique in many ways, one of them being that she was a skilled female doing professional work dominated by male artists.   Her innovations included developing color schemes with a special color-tint process for the backgrounds, and with Charles Currier, making critical improvements to the lithographic crayon used by the firm.  Other lithographers then (showing 500 of 8124 characters).
