This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Painter and writer James Prosek has written and illustrated seven books on his passion of fishing. His first book, "Trout: An Illustrated History" (Alfred A Knopf, NY) was published while he was in his junior year at Yale University. Prosek's fifth book took him around the world illustrating people fishing along the same parallel as Prosek's Easton, Connecticut home.

James Prosek is a self-taught watercolorist who paints fish in the spirit of Audubon hoping to document first the trout of North America and later the trout of the world. His most recent series of fish combine his illustrative style with his imagination. In this series a 'Parrotfishe' is a combination parrot and fish.
