| | Rogers made a sketching trip down the Mississippi River to New Orleans in 1849. He was a resident of San Francisco during 1856-77. In 1856 he was an associate of John W. Fairchild in preparing a panorama of scenes of the Vigilance Committe for the American Theatre; in 1859 he painted scenes at the Lyceum Theatre and in 1865 exhibited landscapes at the California Art Union.
