| Born in Boston, Abigail Williams spent most of her career in Salem, Massachusetts where she and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Williams, taught art in the public schools. She studied in Rome, Italy from 1860 to 1861 and exhibited with the National Academy of Design and St. Botolph's Club in Boston.
