| A graduate of Cal Tech, John Williams has emerged as a touchstone for LA's in-the-know artists and critics since 1998 when he first began exhibiting his work. Video is his primary medium, and he records every-day themes such as people making purchases at Wal-Mart, and then re configures the footing with acceleration, slowing, etc. to emphasize certain aspects of his subject matter. The result is often quite humorous
He also creates day dreamlike sculptures, which he then uses as the models for the figures in his paintings. |
