Terry Winters was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1949. He is best known for his paintings, drawings and lithographs of organic shapes that look as though they were seen through a microscope. He received his education at Pratt Institute in 1971 and started out as a color abstractionist. His sketches and drawings seem to be based on the forms one would find in the study of anatomy, botany and biology.
His shapes resemble dividing cells, complex plant systems, seed and shells and are used in (showing 500 of 8126 characters). |
