A Kiowa painter from Yukon, Oklahoma, Woody Big Bow created iconographic works that celebrate his culture. He followed the tradition of many of the Indian painters after 1920 who, basing their work on Plains Indians tepee designs, created images with flat colors and geometric shapes.
