William Sheridan Young ( after 1877)
A painter of landscapes, portraits, and literary subjects, Young was
active in Cincinnati from about 1855 to 1870 and again, after a stay in
Chicago, from 1874 to 1877. A native of Cincinnati, he studied in
Dusseldorf and specialized in mountainous European and New England
scenery. The artist was a member of the original Cincinnati
Sketch Club in 1862 and 1863.
