For more than twenty-five years, Hollis Taggart Galleries has specialized in American fine art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. We are committed to exhibiting, studying, and placing notable paintings and sculpture.

The gallery's nineteenth-century expertise includes Hudson River School painting, Luminism, and American Impressionism. In twentieth century art, movements including the Ashcan group, Stieglitz circle modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism are represented by the gallery.
Our gallery is located on the Upper East Side's Museum Mile, just across the street from the Whitney Museum of American Art. This is an ideal setting to continue our mission of presenting numerous museum-quality exhibitions that significantly contributed to the study of American art.

Along with foremost scholars in the field, Hollis Taggart Galleries has organized critically acclaimed exhibitions. We are pleased to have collaborated with over thirty museums and institutions loaning works to these shows. Substantial scholarly catalogues accompany each exhibition and these publications are important sources of information and new research.

Hollis Taggart Galleries is committed to new scholarship in American art. We are delighted to be part of the following catalogues raisonnés. Composed of nearly 1,500 entries, the catalogue raisonné of Pennsylvania Impressionist Daniel Garber is now completed and available for purchase on our website at Daniel Garber Catalogue Raisonné. In 2000, the gallery launched the catalogue raisonné of Frederick Carl Frieseke; the artist's grandson is overseeing the project. We are also pleased to be involved with the catalogue raisonné for pioneering Modernist Manierre Dawson. More information on the project is available at http://www.manierredawson.com/.
Stay in touch with what's new at our gallery. In addition to providing the public with informative exhibitions, the gallery advises private collectors, corporations, and museums on acquisitions. The gallery also consults with clients to assist them in the development of their personal collections.
We welcome all inquiries from collectors who may wish to sell or consign works of art or estates. Our gallery can provide appraisal services as well.
