The gallery's nineteenth-century expertise includes Hudson River School painting, Luminism, and American Impressionism. In twentieth century art, movements including the Ashcan group, Stieglitz circle modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism are represented by the gallery.

Hollis Taggart Galleries is committed to new scholarship in American art. We are delighted to be part of the following catalogues raisonnés. Composed of nearly 1,500 entries, the catalogue raisonné of Pennsylvania Impressionist Daniel Garber is now completed and available for purchase on our website at Daniel Garber Catalogue Raisonné. In 2000, the gallery launched the catalogue raisonné of Frederick Carl Frieseke; the artist's grandson is overseeing the project.
