| Born in Wakayama, Japan on Sept. 22, 1890. Ueyama studied in Tokyo and continued in San Francisco at the Institute of Art (1909-10) and at the PAFA. By 1922 he had moved to Los Angeles and in the 1930s lived for a few years in San Francisco. After returning to Los Angeles, he established a gift shop called Bun-Ka Do in Little Tokyo.
