The following biography, submitted March 2005, is from Michael M Engel III, the son of the artist Michael Martin Engel II.
Born in New York City in March of 1919, Michael Martin Engel II was immediately part of the New York Art community. His father, Michael M. Engel was director of publications and research at the M. Grumbacher art material supply company, so young Michael grew up surrounded by art and artists. In the late 1930's, he attended the Art Students League of New York and (showing 500 of 1355 characters). |
