Robert (Bob) Duran was born in Salinas, California in 1938. An abstract impressionist painter, he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in painting in 1969 and was awarded a grant by the National Endowment of the Arts in 1979.
Between 1968 and 1977 he had several solo shows in galleries in New York City and Houston, Texas.
