Combining realism and impressionism, Hedi Moran creates rich and lively still life oil paintings that seem bathed in sunlit light and vivid color. The appearance of freshness and spontaneity in her paintings masks carefully cultivated techniques of composition and brushstrokes.
The artist was born Ase Pedersen in a small Norwegian coastal fishing village, and at age nine, emigrated to the United States with her family. Her American classmates found her name too difficult to pronounce corr (showing 500 of 2618 characters). |
