The following, submitted February 2005, is from John Edison, grandson of the artist and was written in collaboration with Lydia Edison and Elizabeth Lindeman, daughter and first cousin of Hugh Tyler.
Hugh C. Tyler was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to be near the source of marble which made the columns manufactured in part by TySaMan (Tyler, Savage and Manning) machine company. Hugh's father Joel was a teacher, as was his wife, and Joel Tyler was a v (showing 500 of 3684 characters). |
