A noted early and mid-twentieth century painter of western landscapes, Alice Anderson was in Arizona and New Mexico by 1935 and continued to live between there and her home in New York state.
She was born and raised in South Orange, New Jersey, and early got involved in bookbinding, continuing this as a home business after her 1909 marriage to Arthur Anderson, a banker with J.P.
