| | Painter, teacher. Born in Hawaii on Sept. 6, 1896. Katherine Foster grew up in Chicago and began her art studies there in 1908 at the AIC. She further studied in Paris and married before settling in Pasadena about 1940. During WWII she did weather maps at Caltech. The crystals which she observed in the geology department became her painting forte. After the war she taught art for 30 years at Pasadena City College and in the public schools. She died there on Dec. 13, 1990. Exh: Gallery 8 (Pasadena), 1979 (solo).
