|  Born in New Jersey, he early developed a love of animals and of horseback riding. He studied painting at the Jepson Art Institute, Art Center College, Kahn Institute and Choinard Art Institute. The early part of his career was spent in magazine illustration and the latter part in California painting horses and western scenes. |
