Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
| Painter. Born in Wanamingo, Minnesota of Swedish parents on March 15, 1908.
Swan moved to southern California in 1923. He studied at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and the Carmel Institute of Art under John Cunningham.
He died in Monterey, California on March 16, 1963.
An Impressionist, he is best known for his desert landscapes and harbor scenes of Monterey Bay.
