This biography from the Archives of AskART:

Born in New York, Darrow Durham moved to Long Beach, California with his family in 1902 when he was twelve years old. He earned his living as a paving contractor and painted landscapes in his leisure time. He was a member of the Spectrum Club, a businessmen's art club.

He died in Long Beach on April 9, 1960.
