Galisteo, New Mexico landscape and portrait painter Patrick McFarlin uses a sweepingly brushy technique to suggest rather than define the scenes he paints, often buildings caught between swathes of earth and sky.
McFarlin, born in Arkansas, studied at the Memphis College of Art, University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland in the late 1960s. In 1990, he moved to Santa Fe, where he worked for four years on a SITE project painting over three (showing 500 of 1093 characters). |
