William F. Lydston, Jr. was born in Newburyport, MA, May 31, 1813, to William and Mary (Collins) Lydston. He moved to Boston and married Nancy Young, who died in 1840. He then married Sarah Hamilton of Philadelphia in 1841. He was a portrait painter who ran a shop on Court Street. in Boston and also painted miniatures. He served in the Civil War as a musician and later played trombone with (showing 500 of 946 characters). |
