Gertrude Henrietta Freyman was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1901 and
lived most of her life in the Kansas City area. Miss
Freyman was a graduate of the Kansas City
Art Institute. She won the the Tiffany Foundation
Scholarship in the 1930's and won the Macy's Living with Art
Competition in 1960.
During the 1930's she taught at the Kansas City Art Institute. She did
illustrations for the Kansas City Star Company and did interior design
