Joseph Leeland Roop (some records show his name as Joseph Lee) was born December 22, 1869 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. His father was Joseph William Roop (1842-1893), born in Roopsburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania; he grew up in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana and Decatur, Alabama. He served in the Confederate Army in the 9th Alabama Cavalry. After the war Joseph William moved to Louisvill (showing 500 of 13863 characters). |
