The following was written and submitted by Nick Caputo, December 2003.
Born on November 2, 1927, Steve Ditko studied at the Cartoonist and Illustrators School under the guidance of Batman illustrator Jerry Robinson. In 1953 he began working on the comic book field, soon drawing many horror and science fiction stories for Charlton Comics. In 1956 he started to work for editor Stan Lee at Atlas (later known as Marvel Comics).
He drew many short fantasy stories that mirrored the (showing 500 of 2109 characters). |
