Charles Frederick William Mielatz, born in Bredden, Germany on May 24, 1864 was a pupil of the Chicago School of Design and Frederic Rondel in New York. He was a member of the New York Etching Club (Secretary); ANA 1906; American Watercolor Society, receiving awards; and the St. Louis Exposition 1904. He also served as an Instructor at the National Academy of Design.
