Born in
Brooklyn in 1929 to Jewish socialist parents, Gabriel Laderman was
interested, as a child, in natural history and science and did not
become interested in art until he was 17 years old. He was
encouraged by his parents to become an artist, but he kept in mind,
because of his background, that his work should be understandable to
any ordinary person.
He studied with Hans Hofmann, at his
school, with William de (showing 500 of 2229 characters). |
