Richard Creifelds, portrait and genre painter, was born in New York City in 1853. He studied art at the National Academy of Design and at the Royal Academy in Munich during the 1870s. Privately, Creifelds took lessons with Barth and Wagner.
The artist exhibited in Brooklyn, at the Pennsylvania Academy, the National Academy and the Art Institute of Chicago in the late 19th century.
Creifelds passed away in 1939.
