Daniel Boyer is best known for his "entoptic graphomanias," drawings using an automatic method first developed by the Romanian surrealist Dolfi Trost, in which dots are made at the sites of impurities or shifts in color in a blank sheet of paper, and lines are then made between the dots. He also did many gouaches and fumages (a method developed by Wolfgang Paalen in which the paper or canvas is discolored or burned with smoke or flame from a lamp or candle).
Born in Hancock, Michigan i (showing 500 of 4337 characters). |
