| Painter, etcher. Born in San Francisco, CA on June 17, 1879. At the turn of the century Charlotte Butler studied privately with Gottardo Piazzoni and at the Mark Hopkins Institute under Mathews and Aitken. At that school she served as assistant teacher of drawing until 1905. In that year she married artist William L. Skinner and settled in Lone Pine, CA in 1910. While there, she painted the local scenery and taught painting to the Native American children. Following brief stays in San Francisco (showing 500 of 991 characters). |
