| Born in Constanza, Romania on Dec. 25, 1898. At age two Schnier immigrated with his family to San Francisco where his father became engaged in home building. The younger Schnier's interests during the early part of his life were engineering and architecture. After receiving an M.A. degree from the engineering school at Stanford University in 1920, he worked as an engineer in Hawaii until 1923. Opting for an art career, he abandoned engineering and returned to the mainland to begin an intensive (showing 500 of 7967 characters). |
