The following information was submitted by Ellin Mashin, the artist's niece:

Irving Wolfson, was born 1899 at 399 Grand Street, on the lower east side of Manhattan.  He is the second of three boys, all born at the same address.  His father, Benjamin Wolfson, was a photographer and owned his own photo shop at 399 Grand Street. 

Artwork was his only vocation and all his earnings, which were meager, came only from his art.  He worked in  charcoal, wa (showing 500 of 916 characters).
