| Born in Chicago, Alice Hardwick studied at the Art Students League in
New York where her teachers included Birge Harrison, Frank DuMond and
Melbourne Hardwick, who later became her husband.
The couple traveled and painted in Holland and Belgium, and many of her
paintings are of beach scenes of the Northern coast of Holland.
She regularly exhibited in Philadelphia and New York Galleries. She
also taught and wrote about art. She was a member of the Copley Society
in Boston, the Springfield Art League, the American Federation of Art
and the North Shore Art Association.
